The predecessor of Ningbo College of Health Science was Ningbo Sino-America Senior School of Nursing which was founded in 1925. During the past more than eighty years this college has trained large quantities of relevant nursing professionals, and in December 2003 it was defined by Ministry of Education and Ministry of Public Health as a base for training demand skilled personnel in nursing field.

 

   The nursing training center has been financially supported by Ministry of Finance as a national vocational education base since December 2005, which is also the education training center of Ningbo city. The center has a floor space of six thousand square meters, and is well equipped with modern teaching facilities which cost about ten million RMB. As a result of its advanced facilities, versatile functions, standardized management and first-class environment, it is assessed as one of the leading centers among those of the national colleges.

 

   The nursing school has a high-quality and well-structured full-time and part-time faculty . Some famous professors are engaged as deans of school and directors of offices. At present, there are 90 specialized teachers, most of them have both teaching and clinical titles, 51% of them has senior professional title, 17% of them has got a master's degree. Clinical nursing offices and branches of training center have been developed in Ningbo No.1 hospital and other seven hospitals.

 

   "Platform and Pathway "courses system is available for students in the school. Pathway includes: Clinic Nursing, Foreign Nursing, Rehabilitation Nursing, Community Nursing and Dental Nursing. To broaden their nursing horizons, multiform cooperation is explored for students to provide further opportunities.

 

    The nursing school has been named key profession of higher education, important cultivated field of nursing study of Medical Health, and the training base for application nursing professions in Ningbo. We are aiming at cultivating practical medical professionals who possess good spirits of humanity and professional attainment, solid professional knowledge and skills as well as interpersonal communicating skills and social potentials.
